A new direction but closed for now

These new paintings of mine are very different from the way I have been working in the past.  First off they are done with acrylics.  I think the last time I used acrylic paint, aside house paint, was back in college.  Painting with acrylic took a little getting used to.  I have been painting with oils for the past eight years now and they behave quite differently.  This was exciting and a little frustrating.  Exciting because the process was certainly not a linear one and frustrating because of the limits comparatively to the use of oils.  This is one of those moments when frustration breathes a new life into the creative process.

I also have been utilizing this new technique of mine that I accidentally created.  It is an image transfer using a screen printing techniques and a little rubbing.
